Whilst the battle shots of the second chimurenga war-furnace rang aloud between the years 1966-1980, a shockingly brilliant ex-school teacher turned liberation war champion- ROBERT GABRIEL MUGABE was ferociously spreading his propaganda of freedom with abandon. He often roared unto his fighters; 'that when you see gold rust, then it was not gold in the first place: it was actually brass- for true gold does not rust! Thus in the aftermath of the protracted and arduous liberation war, under the wise and futurist guidance of comrade Mugabe, Zimbabwe finally won a compassionate date with lady freedom.
Thus it follows that the great house- as the lynx Zimbabwe translates in the great Shona tongue, was redeemed from the predatory and insatiable jaws of British lunacy, cowardice, loot, rape, pillage and plunder that was dazzlingly masked in the molten garment of Brutish imperialism. It is therefore no news that that the colonial machine devoured millions of blameless black women, children and men but it is news that this age birthed probably modern times most skilled firebrand priest at the altar of hope for the submerged nations of Africa and the world. If imperialism, true to its ways, thought that in comrade Mugabe it had won itself a pawn to superimpose its curse on the black beloved deep in the somersaulting hills of Mashona- land, it was in for a rude shock! Obscened with the courage of ten mother-leopards robbed of cubs combined, Comrade Mugabe was to later on bare his claws and aim poisoned arrows of decency at the brettonwood corridors and 10 Downing street- the official residence of the British prime minister.

Because of Mugabe's noble ideals and ruthless rhetoric against evil that is West, Tony Blair during his times embarked on a despicable campaign to demerit and throw mud at the lofty feat clinched by the Mugabe administration back in the beautiful Harare city. It should be noted with such jealousy that before nonsense prevailed over reason among the so- called great powers to admonish Dr. Mugabe, Zimbabwe was a thriving economy with the best literacy rate in Africa, promising GDP growths, an infrastructural boom and the ideal destination for experts in economics who wanted the fine-looking peoples of Zimbabwe to share with them their success story. As the door of 10 downing shut behind the ill-mannered Blair, in came a man whose mother forgot to teach him the etiquette of diplomacy as prime minister-elect. That man was Gordon Brown- prior on foreign secretary. Brown inherited an office that has famed itself over the centuries to have built an empire on the decaying bones of the submerged peoples and sustaining it on their blood. And he did turn out to be its brilliant apprentice. Using the land question in Zimbabwe that was ably and perfectly handled by the ageing comrade to veil imperialism's true face, Gordon, as he is fondly known in power circles of Britain, openly attacked the Harare administration and poured scorn allover it. He on a number of occasions threatened boycott vital symposiums if Mugabe did attend. He influenced the backyard of imperialism, the EUROPEAN UNION, to slap more sanctions on Mugabe's regime. He attempted to break the first cracks of insanity in the African Union fortress. He along with the administration he was representing groomed a stooge in Morgan Richard Tsvangirai. He also, with the support of the Washington rule, injected billions in the print and electronic media to depose Mugabe. He unsuccessfully plotted assassination attempts through good nurtured top army chiefs who at all times briefed their commander about the design. As a result, his efforts were rewarded with sky- rocketing inflation in the country, high unemployment levels, millions of deprived people, a cholera outbreak and hunger that choked thousands into silence! Confronted with all that could have forced even the bravest and most courageous of men to hoist the flag of surrender, Mugabe just hardened on the oppressors until they were forced to send their glove-puppet- Tsvangirai to talk peace with a man famed for a heart as hard as a diamond!

In the struggles of Mr. Mugabe, the world has been blessed with the opportunity to spot Africa's true friends and mortal foes. We have seen true African patriots like Mzee Mbeki, Libyan leader Col. Muammer el Qhadaffi, Ugandan life president Yoweri Museveni (but his failures at home not withstanding) inta allia. We have also seen comrade Mugabe's clenched fist tear through the air in defiance. And we have also been made to reaffirm that indeed true gold does not rust. It is on such a background that I submit that the name ROBERT GABRIEL MUGABE be cut on the cherished memorial tablet of Africa's braves. He has a throne for a seat in the great balcony of Africa's greatest heroes. I also laud him for candidly telling Buckingham that it can hide the spots of the hyena of imperialism but cannot forever hide its smell.

Dearest Mugabe, - Zimbabwe, Africa, and the submerged peoples littered around the world owe you a bottomless and severe debt of gratitude. Of how you make them chest thump with pride, the Gods of our land can exclusively tell. May you live longer than your fore- fathers. May you forever keep the great bonfire of the African hope glowing brighter and mightier. God bless you gallant son of Africa, brave son of the soil.

THE 2008 KENYA CRISIS

Like a bright flash that trumpets aloud an impending lightening strike, the mayhem in Kenya threatens to wipe from the face of heart-land core unity that has eminently defined her since attaining uhuru in 1963.

Tribalism and ethinicity, the arch-enemies to African unity, exalted high by the white lunacy and long dwarfed by the Kenyan populace is the racing to the fore-threateningly, fiercely and mightily. As long anticipated, it is another subject matter drawn from the ills and curses of multi-party politics- a western birth mark.

Emilio Mwai Kibaki’s refusal to traverse a democratic path has triggered off a glaring onslaught!

The rather delayed but finally announced Sunday poll results pronounced a lead for the incumbent beating rival ODM’s Raila Odinga- flesh and blood of a great Kenyan patriot, Mzee Jaramogi Odinga- Oginga. The elections were tinted with vote rigging and malpractices therefore highly flawed-it is alleged.

Did Kibaki genuinely win, did he rig or both sides rigged and he who emerged victor rigged the most? As far as that is concerned, we need quick and prompt divine retribution.
However circumstantial evidence highly pins the incumbent.

Horrifyingly odd, ODM clamed the majority seats in parliament, Kibaki’s henchmen were ousted in inflating numbers. And here came ECK chairman Samuel Kivuitu declaring a killing kibaki victory!

Circumstantial evidence highly pins the incumbent.

Horrifyingly odd, ODM clamed the majority seats in parliament, Kibaki’s right hand henchmen ousted in inflating numbers. And here came ECK chairman Samuel Kivuitu declaring victory with a margin of less than 300,000 votes for PNU’s Kibaki whose party members suffered blistering losses to Odinga’s ODM candidates.

French foreign minister Bernard Kouchner observed; ‘Were the elections rigged? I think so, the Americans think so, the British think so…..’

Amidst moaning women, groaning men, fury tears, fire and blood, the weeping millions have been left privy to despotic tendencies of some African leaders who not only cherish life presidency but also twist, curve, bend, break and mend their country’s constitutions to oil their power thirsty throats. For the above, African heads have feverishly endavoured with all their magnanimous might to eradicate all opposition to their thrones of power from their alien subjects. This whistles loud the increasing pain orgy suffered by the opposition chiefs. They not only endure skillfully orchestrated election defeats but are also threatened to or do actually serve long prison terms. The incumbents are thereafter let in the political kraals alone appreciating the warmth of kingly robes.

The 2002 Kenyan polls that brought to the fore Ndugu Kibaki were greeted as a monumental success for democracy. One of those rare scenes where a united opposition block ousted a ruling regime it highly blamed for corruption and rape of democracy. Irony in all it’s absolutism strips its whole self naked exactly 5 years after the said polls.

Here, an incumbent, the one who scored the killing triumph in the previous polls contributes to the ruin of democracy- am afraid if these happenings continue occurring in mother Africa, democracy in all it’s absolutism will crumble instantly like a pack of cards.

Machiavellian Kibaki, the good old politician from the house of Mumbi and his acrobatic skills in vote rigging would have instantly elated Bolshevic comrade Joseph Stalin-modern world’s accomplished tyrant who committed some of the most heinous atrocities the world has ever seen including killing Ukrainian prisoners, putting 9,000 of their bodies in a mass grave-clinically laid head to toe to save space in the Ukrainian town of Vinnitsa. The shoe-makers son who robbed bank accounts in his native town Georgia to further the Bolshevik cause so rhymed; ‘ It is never the voting that matters but rather the counting does.’

Exceedingly humbled he would have belched. Unfortunately rather fortunately aged 73 in 1953 march 5th, death had accomplished what no foe could. Joseph Stalin fell after losing the battle with cerebral haemorrhage.

With the dead and the dying littering Kenyan streets, Kibaki to reverse a hell-bound move to a bloody genocide, should instantly strike a compromise with rival Raila-Odinga or else; ‘When spider webs unite, they can tie up a lion.’- Asante Ghana .

WHEN THE THIEVES ARE ON RAMPAGE, A NATION IS ROBBED, SHE PROFOUNDLY BLEEDS!

RUJUMBA ABWOOLI- OMURUNGI W'ABASAMBU, infant of mother Africa; the finest of creation, the cradle of mankind and civilization, the unsung depository of human knowledge and the forgotten guard to the secrets of the making of man, have you realized that the Ugandan facet of the great African diamond is being hurled into sheer a fraud- ground?

Kigezi born and bred- John Patrick AMAMA-MBABAZI, through influence peddling, purportedly sold a chunk of 414.44 acreage of his land he supposedly owned with businessman Amos NZEYI at Busiro- Temangalo to the National Social Security Fund helmed by an overgrown village bully David CHANDI-JAMWA. The rotten deal saw the workers’ hard earned and hard saved funds bigheartedly dished out to the so called ‘super minister’.

Aside from crimes of breach of procurement rules, the fee was amplified to the tunes of 11billion- far above the average price of shillings 5.93 billion (approximately 10-14 million shillings per acre ) recommended by the three independent valuers-Knight Frank, East African consulting surveyors and Associated consulting surveyors. Claudius Olweny, one of the directors, cried foul during a board meeting thus “there was a lot of political pressure being heaped on the fund to purchase the land”.

The parliamentary committee that was entrusted with the powers to scan any irregularities in the Temangalo saga, even after dire attempts to infiltrate it (the reader of this article must not forget the attempt by the president to bribe the committee chairman- honourable John Odit with a trip to Iceland!), released a report that pinned the accused and in its recommendations, vetted for the two ministers’ resignation and dismissal.

The disgrace of the lawyers, the attorney general of Uganda, whom am reliably informed holds a first class honours in law, once more rose to the occasion not only to betray his nation, the erudite law fraternity, but also cast doubt over the true sanity of his mind. The whole parliament of an egalitarian nation cannot just lack the jurisdiction to try any of its subordinates. The interests and the funds of the workers cannot just be vested in the office of the lady- ombudsman, who prima facie cannot rally her valour to prevail over caution due to the nature of her appointment!

To that effect, am hauntingly pushed to convey the blistering news of the wreckage of the ship- nation of Uganda. The ship captain, who, it is manifestly glaring, has started enduring the wrong pangs of old age, YOWERI MUSEVENI son of Amos Kaguta and Esteeri Kokundeka (May her very gentle soul rest in everlasting and uninterrupted peace) is, as my friend and comrade Katerega Julius puts it, “giving corruption a warm blanket”.

Not since her birth has this prized pearl-jewel of Africa witnessed such un- bridled tunes of coffer-slaughter. Former minister of ethics and integrity, MIRIA MATEMBE in a motherly and emotional proclamation posted thus “The president, the fountain of honour of this nation, sits in a corner and conspires with his henchmen to rob this nation: it is absurd”. The firebrand Matembe further posted that “If there is anyone who still has hope in this government, may be he is not O.K.”

The 2005 N.S.S.F. scandal-boat of the botched $225 million (then 360 billion) Nsimbe housing estates project with construction tycoon- James Mugoya Isabirye in which the fund stood to loose over 8 billion shillings, capsized and drowned with it the then board chairman- Mr. Onegi Obel, the managing director Mr. Leonard Mpuuna and the Labour minister Mrs. Zoƫ Bakoko- Bakoru. The coolers of Luzira prison caressed the former for a considerable period of time. Now who is this so called blue-eyed boy- Amama Mbabazi to elude the wrath of the law? How can a whole president of a nation ferociously defend a top- shot of his government who is in the spotlight for misappropriation of public funds? How can he, using his commanding status, influence a waiver on the charges brought against a cabinet minister who has misbehaved?

It is no wonder therefore that the mainstream numbers of a generously rewarded, allegiance pleading, favour seeking and patriotism- lacking parliament, that when commanded by the top brass to shout, it retorts how loud, to run, that how fast and to jump, how high?- Prevailed over sanity! Now, QUIS CUSTODIET IPSOS CUSTODES? -Who shall guard the guardians themselves?

The nation is agape in disbelief and wonderment of how man can tend to be cruel to the gracious ideal of patriotic service to his motherland and of how in such trying times of a robbed nation, the custodian of its supremacy, the wielder of its instruments of power forsakes it.

I think I do not need to send an emissary to his most excellence of how he is systematically undoing and throwing away the gains of a revolution he so affectionately, lovingly and devotedly bestowed unto this nation and its people he rescued from the jaws and burdens of blood-lust, infamy and tyranny-the hallmarks of the long gone totalitarian regimes. The shinning trophy of his hard struggles and belated sacrifices for the Ugandan peoples is loosing its spackle and glitter.
